Artists in residence

Since 2004, the Belgian composer of contemporary classical music Walter Hus has been artist in residence at Namahn. Walter Hus’ recording studio, featuring a Decap organ, is located in the Namahn spaces. While Walter Hus has performed concerts in the Namahn space, the main interest is for the composer to have full-time availability of a sufficiently large, soundproof studio for his large, very loud instruments.

Currently, Walter Hus is working on the second edition of his Opera of Les Marolles, featuring both trained and untrained voices, the Decap organ - and Brussels' Palace of Justice. More info can be found in this brochure (PDF).

On 5 May 2009, Walter performed with his band HUS in the Namahn open space. Here is a snippet of the concert.
