Ideation brings out the best in people. Creativity is not an on/off trait. Everybody's creativity can be triggered and maximized, if only the right approach is used.
Ideation is simply about generating new ideas. In Namahn's case, these can be ideas about new interface idioms but also about new digital products that have not been seen before.
During well-prepared, heavily moderated workshops, participants from various disciplines, representing different stakeholders get together to generate ideas. Participants receive a 'briefing pack' ahead of time, providing them with inspiring material. During the workshop the rules of brainstorm apply: exploration and consolidation alternate and criticism is applied judiciously.
One of the Namahn spaces is a design studio that is purpose-designed for ideation: a huge amount of wall space, a lot of daylight streaming in from above, a heated floor and a modular space. Tools and toys are in supply.
