On Thursday 11 March 2010, Namahn hosts a workshop on business model innovation. We have invited Patrick van der Pijl of Business Model Inc (Amsterdam) to introduce the Business Model Canvas and the associated techniques so participants can understand business modelling and work on new or existing models.
During this workshop, participants will gain complete insight in the theory of business modelling, while discussing a multitude of examples. We will give you concrete steps and help you experience business model innovation. We are going to innovate ourselves!
We will discuss and apply the Business Model Canvas of Alex Osterwalder (bm canvas: a shared language for describing, visualizing, assessing and changing business models) and the contents of the book Business Model Generation ("a handbook for visionaries, game changers, and challengers striving to defy outmoded business models and design tomorrow enterprises"). Participants receive a free copy of this book.
The business model canvas allows you to paint pictures of new or existing business models using the 9 building blocks. If you understand these building blocks you will be able to continually improve your business model and gain a competitive advantage.
The workshop is conceptual, but also practical and highly interactive. This is the agenda:
